1. What made you want to take a trip to Tanzania?
Well for many reasons but the main ones being, I wanted to go because of my love for Africa, since it is not my first time to Africa, and my love for travelling to different countries.

2. When did you go and how long?
I went several times the first being in 2005 together with Mr.Beard (teacher) and the second was in 2007. I plan to go again this year.

3. What did you do during your stay?
Well every time we go we work on a project altogether, we build foundations for the school, and we teach students. It is mostly the same every year we go. During our free time mostly during the second week we go on a safari to see the country.

4. What was it like?
Well it was great that’s why I keep going back, it was great to work with the people and the student down there. It was nice to see our students (ICS students) interacting with students from Tanzania.

5. Was it like you expected?
My first time it was just like I expected, because I had travelled around that area many times before. It was still a bit new because I have never been in Tanzania before. There we went to an orphanage for street children and that was quite sad to see.

6. What did you expect it to be like?
My first time I thought it would be very similar to my other experiences. For me it was great to see students have fun and get something out of it at the same time.

7. How is the school different from ICS?
It is like day and night it is very different the school is basically the same size of a classroom here, it has hardly any equipment. They had a very old fashioned board and not even enough pencils.

8. How did you expect to be treated?
Well we had a lot of email and contact with the teachers and we new we would be taken care of, they are very warm and loving people.

9. Have you seen improvement when you visited?
Yes I have seen some improvements because now they have a class room and they have a proper kitchen which they didn’t have before, some of the kids got to go to school because they had uniforms which they couldn’t afford before.

10. Have you ever experienced any problems or challenges during your stay in Tanzania?
Nothing really work the way you expect it to work at home, so you have to be very flexible for example the computer might not work you might not have any electricity, the cement might not be ready for you to build so you really have to be very flexible that way.
11. What was your favourite activity during the trip?
I can’t really say I liked everything that we did.

12. What would you do again from the activities?
Well we are mostly already doing the same thing every time we go. I would probably be there again to help the school and also the travelling was great to see the country.

13. How was it adapting to a different environment?
I didn’t have any problems at all, since I travelled around the area before. It was a bit warm but it cools down in the evening so its perfect climate.

14. Would you go again?
I am going again but after this trip I probably would go again.
