Overview

Education in Tanzania isn’t that strong like other schools. As people realize that education is the one support for the nation, the people there try to achieve the skills to save the economy that is happening in the country.

Policies

The two main policies that the students must know are learning the two languages such as English and Swahili. English connects Tanzania and everywhere else in the society through technology and management. As every other country in the world, each student must learn their home language to have contact with the culture and tradition.

The Education System

As the students there have different periods of time attending each level for the education system of the school, they must go for two years in Pre-primary education, seven years attending the Primary, four years in Secondary middle school and two years of senior school and another three or more years of Tertiary Education.

Basic, Secondary and Tertiary levels

The first level that the students attend for their first year of education is the pre-primary level, which learn basics such as primary materials and adult education substances but which is informal, as it is the first year that shouldn’t be too difficult. At secondary they have much more advanced levels, as in Tertiary they have programs and courses accessible which includes for non-high and higher education establishment.

Basic Info

In Primary schools, the parents are essential to pay tuition for uniforms, testing fees and other school supplies, but the tuition in every school has been removed since 2002. But since families didn’t have to pay as much they used to pay, there were suddenly a rise of children in primary, which there needed to be more school books, teachers and classrooms. In private schools, the students learn more English than their own home language. Students are required to take a test, which they must pass to get into primary school and to have primary certificate. In secondary schools the tuition is not free but need to pay around TSH 20.000 per year, which is about 15 dollars. In private secondary school the tuition can differ from 150 dollars up to 20,000 dollars. The secondary ends when students pass the exam called the Form 6 and then will receive their diploma. If they get decent marks, they might even get register into university. After school activities such as sports or religious classes has been an important part for the students.
